American Hazelnut is a native wildlife-attracting shrub, commonly found at the edge of a woodland. This medium to fast growing shrub forms a thicket that is great for wildlife cover and food. Theoretically the berries of this tree is edible for humans but it is often difficult to beat the wildlife to them. Though it is wildlife approved, it is considered resistant to deer.
