Basswood, also known as American Linden, is a deciduous tree found across most of the United States. It produces heart-shaped leaves and fragrant, yellow-green flowers. With their straight trunks, broad canopies, and lush foliage, Basswoods make great shade trees. These trees are also especially prized for the uniquely-flavored honey that bees who "work" the trees produce.
CAUTION: Basswood trees are vulnerable to damage by Japanese Beetles.
